Here I am...God damn. I treated myself to a BLOG for Christmas. A blog and a whole lotta yarn. Between the two of them, I think I should be kept busy for the winter. Doncha' think??
Let me introduce myself. My name is Debby (mostly known as Deb) and I live in Western New York...near Buffalo. Actually, I live in one of the suburbs of Buffalo. I am 49, mother of one daughter and grandmother of three grandchildren (two boys and one girl). You will get to meet them soon, I am sure. I am disabled due to cancer so I spend a lot of time here...mostly reading other people's knitting blogs. I am an avid knitter (now) and I also try to read alot. I used to bead...but the eyes have given out on me lately from chemo so I cannot do that as much as I want to. Me thinks that will change soon....good God, I hope so!
I come armed with a digital camera, a scanner and a whole lot to talk about. I sure hope that I fit in. I hope to keep this lively and informational...and once I figure out all the BS that goes with it, it should look 'pretty' too! Hey! What more can you ask for?
And, BTW!!! Happy Holidays from my house to yours. I will be celebrating my Christmas tomorrow so I am treating today as Christmas Eve day. Don't laugh...it works for me. It snowed here yesterday and last nite so those of them who want one, have a white Christmas. The sun is actually shining as well..so it isn't half bad. I don't have to go outside today, so it is just fine with me! In a few minutes, I must wrap presents for the grandkids and daughter and SO and then I am free for the afternoon - to watch movies, hopefully! I have bought a few DVDs over the past few weeks and today may be the day to watch some of them. Dinner is taken care of too. Leftover pre- cooked chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy and a box of Stove Top stuffing and I am set. No Christmas tree here this year. First year in FOREVER that no tree has been put up by me or anyone else and I have to admit that it feels kind of strange. But, I decided that as long as I am here alone, there is no reason to do it. No one comes to visit anyway; so it makes for alot of extra work that I cannot do to put up a tree and decorate it.
I have sent my Christmas e-cards...ever hear of www.jacquielawson.com ? She has wonderful cards! They take awhile to load - but the wait is well worth it! And it is $8/year for all the cards that you can send! Check it out....
I will leave you now with the best Christmas present that a grandma could ask for...Welcome Justin Adrian born Saturday, December 11 with daddy and grandma present....
